Trip Itinerary

Day 1 | Kahawa House
Start your northern Tanzania adventure in the foothills of Mount Meru at Kahawa House. Once an old coffee farm, the property has been transformed into 10 acres of sprawling greenery that provides the most peaceful setting and the perfect place for a one-night stop to recover from your international flights before you make your way to the Tarangire National Park.

Days 2 & 3 | Drive to Tarangire National and stay at Nyikani Camp Tarangire
Drive approximately 4 hours to reach Tarangire from Arusha, and venture into the remote southern region of the park for two nights on safari at Nyikani Camp. The secluded camp is far from any other and you’re not likely to see other vehicles as you game drive in this area. In the mornings,
enjoy breakfast on the deck as you watch the sunrise and the wildlife begin to stir before heading out on a game drive or taking a bush walk with one of our guides.

Days 4 and 5 | Ngorongoro Crater Area and stay at Lion’s Paw Tented Lodge
Enjoy a light breakfast before driving through the scenic Great Rift Valley on the way from Tarangire to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, passing local coffee farms and villages along the way. The Highlands has redefined the Ngorongoro experience and taken it to a new level — quite literally. At 2,700 metres above sea level, the glass and canvas domed accommodation of The Highlands allows sweeping views across the region to be enjoyed from all rooms. Take a game drive in the famous Ngorongoro Crater or opt to see the beauty of the area on foot by hiking the nearby Empakaai Crater or the Olmoti volcano.

Days 6 to 8 | Serengeti
Taking a packed lunch, you will spend today driving around the Ngorongoro Crater and down into the vast savannah plains of the Serengeti, game driving once you enters the park. Stay in the centre of the park near the Moru Kopjes, home to black rhino and away from the crowds to Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge, The camp is the ideal base for an iconic safari experience where rich wildlife, migrating wildebeest herds and big cats can be seen frequently.

Day 9 to 11 | Zanzibar
After nine days of adventure and excitement exploring some of northern Tanzania’s best wilderness areas, Zanzibar is a relaxed and luxurious location, perfect for those wanting to unwind and relax in comfort. Bid your guide farewell at the airstrip in the Serengeti and fly to Zanzibar across the turquoise Indian Ocean, where a driver will transfer you to the north of the island to Matemwe. Make time for a dip in the pool, an indulgent spa treatment and a snooze in the hammock.
Nungwi Dreams offers an unrivalled collection of luxury rooms and a villa, combining elegant modern architecture with subtle Swahili elements. Created with our guests in mind, we have designed spaces to evoke a complete sense of relaxation and tranquillity, while perfectly framing the expansive views of the Indian Ocean.
Enjoy taking in the Zanzibarian sunrises and sunsets over your morning coffee or evening cocktail in hand, while hearing the sounds of lapping waters nearby. All this and more await.

One place
Tanzania is an East African country known for its vast wilderness areas. They include the plains of Serengeti National Park, a safari mecca populated by the “big five” game (elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino), and Kilimanjaro National Park, home to Africa’s highest mountain. Offshore lie the tropical islands of Zanzibar, with Arabic influences, and Mafia, with a marine park home to whale sharks and coral reefs

Arusha is a city in East Africa's Tanzania, located at the base of volcanic Mt. Meru. It's a gateway to safari destinations and to Africa's highest peak, 5,895m Mt. Kilimanjaro, lying some 100 kilometers northeast. To the west lies Serengeti National Park, home to wildlife including lions, rhinoceros, giraffes and leopards. Annual migrations feature huge herds of wildebeests crossing its plains.
Renowned as the safari capital of Tanzania, the town has numerous first-class restaurants, bars and markets and is the ideal place to spend a few relaxing days before embarking on a safari or attempting to scale Kilimanjaro.
