Right next to the Siena Cathedral resides Piccolomini Library, a stunning library with wonderful sculptures, unique books and manuscripts, and outstanding frescoes by the Italian painter Pinturicchio (Bernardino di Betto). The colorful frescos describe ten milestones in the life of cardinal Enea Silvio Piccolomini (Pope Pius II). Pinturicchio painted the library's fresco from 1503 to 1508 and the result is one of Siena's highlights.

Siena Cathedral, or in Italian - Duomo di Siena, is an imposing Romanesque and Gothic cathedral, located in Piazza del Duomo. it is not certain, but researchers suggest that the place was originally built in 1179. It is believed the Cathedral was built on the sites of a 9th-century church that was dedicated to the Virgin Mary, not far from a temple that serves Minerva's followers. The Cathedral interior is remarkable, and its marble mosaic and graffito floor are astonishing and must-see. The façade is one of the most impressive cathedral façades in all of Italy. Also, you may see magnificent sculptures by Antonio Federighi, Nicola and Giovanni Pisano, Francesco di Giorgio Martini, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Gian Lorenzo Bernini, and more.

Located in the heart of Siena's historic center, Piazza del Campo, Pubblico Palace (Public Palace, town hall) was built to serve Siena's governmental administration. The charming and well-preserved medieval structure has marvelous frescos and is adjoint to Torre del Mangia (Tower of Mangia), which gives the building a very special character.

The Tower of Mangia (Torre del Mangia) was built during the early 14th century and is located in the lovely Piazza del Campo, next to Pubblico Palace. The tower is famous for its wonderful design by the notable architect brothers, Muccio and Francesco di Rinaldo. Climbing to the tower's top will unfold before you a spectacular view of the city.

Fontebranda is another lovely fountain in Siena and the oldest in the city. The fountain was built in the 13th century in a Gothic style with red bricks and wonderful three large arches.

Basilica Cateriniana San Domenico was originally dedicated by the Dominicans to St. Dominic in 1226. The Basilica is also where St. Catherine (Catherine of Siena) which her relics can be found at the Basilica, spend most of her life during the 14th century. A magnificent fort which built in the 16th century at the request of Cosimo I de' Medici. Fortezza Medicea (the Medici Fortress) turned into a charming public park during the 20th century. Since then, the park serves locals and tourists who can relax and enjoy the beautiful view.
