Siena, Italy

During the Middle Ages, Siena was among the most powerful and riches cities in Italy. The prosperity of the city during that period, lead to numerous art treasures and spectacular architecture. Even through time and the centuries that passed since, Siena kept its bewitching character, and its striking historical center was declared by UNESCO a World Heritage Site.

Surrounded and built on hills, Siena offers a wonderful travel experience that entwined fascinating history with the magnificent Tuscan landscape. The lively city had fantastic museums, beautiful fountains, an outstanding Duomo, and one of the most delightful medieval squares you will see in Italy, Piazza del Campo.

The city also hosts a very popular horse race, Palio di Siena, which takes place in the city twice a year, on July 2nd and August 16th.
