San Gimignano, Italy

San Gimignano is an entrancing walled hill town with a wonderful medieval skyline and architecture. Surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and vineyards, San Gimignano is truly a Tuscan treasure. The town which is also called the "Town of Fine Towers", used to have 72 towers. In the course of history, many have been destroyed, and only 14 remain. However, those 14 ancient towers, add unique character and much beauty to this lovely town. They also serve as a vantage point and provide a spectacular panoramic view of the town and its surrounding landscapes.

The historic center of San Gimignano, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, will take you back in time with winsome and romantic Romanesque and gothic architecture. But San Gimignano has much more to offer than historical sites, it has fantastic museums and galleries, flavorsome food, the best gelato, and excellent regional white wine, Vernaccia di San Gimignano.
